Graduate Programs

Whether you're looking for a career in academia, animal production, immunology, horse racing, food safety or more, our master’s and Ph.D. degree programs give you the training and preparation you need to make your mark. You’ll conduct hands-on research while building a broad academic foundation with opportunities to focus on a specific scientific discipline. The skillset gained from this course of study will allow you to thrive in a wide range of occupations.

Graduate Degrees in Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences

We offer both master’s and Ph.D. degrees in two areas: Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences and Microbiology. Animal and comparative biomedical sciences covers everything from dairy management to animal physiology to the horse racing field, while microbiology students focus on such things as infectious diseases and host responses, food safety, and more.

Regardless which program you pursue, you can expect maximum flexibility in developing a course of study that is individualized for you and your interests. Each area offers traditional master’s and Ph.D. degree programs; non-thesis degree options in specific fields, such as the race track industry; and an accelerated master’s in microbiology. You’ll learn from and conduct research with a diverse group of colleagues as you train for your future career.
