ACBS Fall 2023 Outstanding Seniors and Grad Celebration

On December 14th, 2023, the ACBS Advising Center hosted an ACBS Fall 2023 Graduate Celebration honoring the Fall 2023 graduating cohort. Awards were presented to the Outstanding Seniors for Animal Science, Food Safety and Veterinary Science. Family, friends, faculty, staff and ACBS Director Dr. Scotty Merrell were invited to the celebration.

ACBS Outstanding Seniors were presented with a custom plaque and certificate by the ACBS Advising Team, and award nominators spoke about the student they nominated.

The Animal Science Outstanding Senior was Erin Coons. Erin plans to grow her horse training business and work in the equine industry. Food Safety Outstanding Senior Yulissa Sanchez graduated from the University of Arizona Yuma campus, and will continue to make an impact on the Food Safety field. Finally, Azucena Wetherington, the Veterinary Science Outstanding Senior, is focusing on becoming a veterinarian and is applying to DVM programs to attend in the fall.

Although Erin and Yulissa were unable to attend, they were still recognized, and their faculty nominators spoke about their accomplishments. Our students continue to make us proud, and we look forward to another great year!
