About the Environmental Microbiology Emphasis

In the Environmental Microbiology emphasis, you will study how microbes interact with the environment – including soil, water, wastewater systems, and human-constructed systems – and how they affect ecosystems and disease. This emphasis will prepare you for a career in research and industry roles like bioremediation specialist, wastewater technician or water quality analyst.
