What makes us different

As a student in the School of Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences, you’ll be able to:

  • Gain hands-on learning in our labs, including the Food Products and Safety Lab, Infectious Disease Research and Diagnostics Lab, Biosensors Lab, or Aquaculture Pathology Lab.
  • Take classes at our experiment stations, like the Al-Marah Equine Center, an 88-acre working horse ranch, or the Campus Agricultural Center, with 50 acres of USDA-accredited pastureland, housing sheep, cattle, horses and pigs.
  • Earn dual credit for a bachelor’s and master’s degree through our accelerated master's program. (Microbiology students)
  • Find your community in a club, like the horsemen’s association, the microbiology club or the pre-veterinary club.
  • Complete internships or study abroad to apply your studies to real-life experiences and gain a competitive advantage for your resume or veterinary school application.
